Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Consultant, Cellular Therapy Program (CTP) will provide support with development, quality assurance, and improvement activities of the Cellular Therapy Program including any research components. Collaborates with all aspects of CTP service lines such as Apheresis, Stem Cell Lab, Data Management, Inpatient and Outpatient BMT to ensure compliance with quality program across all areas. Will provide support and offer recommendations in conjunction with program development to ensure implementation of standard operating procedure consistent with regulatory and accreditation requirements and operational needs.

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

Responsible for ensuring development and delivering of on-going education to cellular therapy staff to include latest research studies, NMDP services and initiatives, and other topics to promote best practices related to allogeneic transplant and cellular therapy.

Responsible for development and ongoing enhancement to the Therapeutic Apheresis program. This would include collaborating with various department on items such as equipment, staffing, coding, billing, development of order-sets, and scheduling.

implement, and manage special projects and research opportunities to address needs and challenges of assigned providers in collaboration with NMDP and CIBMTR colleagues.

Partner with leadership to develops and implements policies, procedures, training and educational programs for CTP. Supports performance improvement initiatives for the program and monitors their effectiveness.

Assumes the role of project manager for assigned projects to ensure that all parties maintaining accountability for adhering to timelines of project plan. 

Partners with leadership to help recruit staff on an as needed basis.

Provide pre and post-transplant care for patient with oncological and hematological disorders on an as needed basis. Care may include administration of high dose chemotherapy, pain management, conscious sedation, intensive care, hemodynamic monitoring, provides care for patients priming for stem cell collection, as well as innovative cellular therapies and immunotherapies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent work experience

Licensure: Arizona Registered Nurse License

PREFERRED

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience

Education: Master’s degree in related field
