Job Description:


The Receptionist is responsible for performing various duties related to the Oncology Clinic. Assists the Director and other Clinic Stakeholders in coordinating departmental functions, various clerical duties, multiple computer systems, record management, data compilation, various reports and correspondence, answering clinic patient phone calls, routine questions, and assisting patients and caregivers with various needs.


  • Greets and checks-in all Oncology Clinic
  • Verifies each patient has signed-in and has current Registration and arm band. Prints armbands as needed.
  • Displays excellent organization and planning skills.  Follows department guidelines for utilization of time, productivity, and performance improvements.  Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of key responsibilities. Accurately documents interventions in a timely manner in the electronic medical record.
  • Distributes the SIT tool to patients as required.
  • Maintains composure under stress and heavy work volumes.
  • Ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Coordinates completion of patient documentation such as, but not limited to FMLA/Disability/patient letters, and other project-based work as assigned by need. 
  • Promotes intra departmental collaboration, seeks to promote understanding and mutual achievement of goals. Collaborates with providers, nursing, and hospital staff to ensure quality patient care.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned by Oncology Clinic Director or designee.



Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required

Special Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills.


Experience: 1-2 years previous medical experience.

Training: Basic computer training.
