Job Summary/Purpose:

The Market Development Specialist (MD) is a critical position on the hospital Growth team. Its role is to research and understand key market opportunities, strategize accordingly and influence strategic direction for other members of the Growth team. The MD Specialist will ultimately grow the annual number of qualified cancer patients from targeted Designated Market Areas (DMA) within the region that have the greatest patient acquisition potential. For each identified top DMA the MD Specialist, in conjunction with the Director of Market Development, will carefully analyze each top market for new patient potential, working closely with Clinical and Finance teams, and negotiate/monitor partnership agreements with cancer support organizations. The MD Specialist will also serve as the Marketing Liaison for all internal accreditation and certification committees. This matrix-style position requires the MD Specialist to work cross-departmentally with the members of CTCA’s Loyalty, Employer Relations, Public Affairs, Clinical, and Finance teams to strategize and execute unique partnerships within targeted DMAs.

The MD Specialist will work with the Director of Market Development to assist in advertising elements pertaining to paid media for Western. Working with the corporate media/digital agency on advertising both regionally and nationally to execute media plans to drive patients to CTCA via television, online (website), billboards, print, radio and other mediums.

Additionally, the MD Specialist will work with Public Affairs and Communication on grassroots social media (both proactive and reactive) and promotional efforts for the full Growth team, recommending and producing social, video and article content pieces that are of interest to key in-market partners and their audiences. This multi-media content will position CTCA as a trusted, capable, clinically exceptional cancer treatment facility.

The MD Specialist will serve as the Phoenix point of contact on the market development HUB calls, updating the HUB dashboard with real-time metrics that capture the impact of market development efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of BS/BA in marketing, communications or related field. Must have minimum of 2-5 years relevant experience, health care preferred.
