Job Description:

Hours: Wed/Thurs 11am - 7pm, Sat/Sun 7am-6.30pm

*Nights/Weekends: Shift differential pay applies


Provides quality food and beverage products for the organization and those under its specialized care.  Processes and produces café, patient and catered meals, that meet Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Phoenix’s Food and Dietetic nutritional guidelines. Ensures that all meals are attractively presented and appealing to customer, producing a positive departmental and hospital reputation.  Follows all ServSafe Food Safety and Sanitation guidelines. Teaches Culinary competencies to other stakeholders. Reports on working conditions and food quality to leadership, weekly. Performs general department audits at the request of leadership and relays direction from leadership to the team.   


  • Prepare all meals following WRMC recipes and ensuring appropriate nutritional content per CTCA Phoenix policy
  • Ensuring proper food storage following ServSafe guidelines.- proper labeling, checking dates and appropriate storage
  • Temperature validation- validation of all temperature controlled equipment and food and beverage items, temperature log adherence using ServSafe guidelines as reference.
  • Sanitation- ensuring proper sanitation of entire work station and area, dishes, hand hygiene, food contact surfaces and as instructed by leadership using ServSafe as reference.
  • Participation- Active participation and documentation of completion of hospital and department required continuing education, quality improvement initiatives and maintains patient confidentiality according to HIPAA policy
  • Acts as a resource of information in the department actively teaching others how to preform job functions to prepare them for their competencies.
  • Preform a variety of audits in the department and report back to leadership with results and ideas on how to address any issues.


Experience: 2-3 years cooking experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Certification: Maricopa County Department of Health approved  Food Handlers Card (ServSafe preferred)

Special Skills: Knife cutting
